The Importance Of Proper Filtration w/ Zephyr Filters
Jim highlights the significant impact of proper filter installation and maintenance in HVAC systems. Air filter bypass, a common yet overlooked issue, can lead to severe equipment failures such as dirty blower wheels, low airflow, and high maintenance costs. Proper filter fitment and selection are vital in preventing dirt from accumulating on essential components like evaporator coils and condensate drains, ensuring the system operates at peak efficiency.
Zephyr filters (aka Elite Air Filters) provide an even load distribution, which is crucial for maximizing filter media usage and maintaining airflow efficiency. These filters are designed to reduce pressure drops even when fully loaded, h...

    Hello my name is Cory Desormeaux I wish I could be there to offer some feedback. I am from Ottawa , Canada, and I work for Francis Home Environment, one of several companies under "The Right Time Group" of HVAC companies across Canada. As a technician, I've been using MQ since day one. I followed Jim over from his iConnect days, and I can run MQ in my sleep. I firmly believe in this product and know firsthand what it can do for training new technicians, ensuring units are commissioned correctly, and increasing revenue-the list goes on. My only issue for the past seven years has been convincing a large company like mine to fully embrace MQ. We recently integrated ServiceTitan in December 2023, and I believe ServiceTitan did an excellent job marketing their software to company owners. However, MQ has not been introduced as effectively. Typically, technicians are the ones pushing for MQ adoption within their companies. I would love to fully utilize MQ's premier features, but currently, I can only use it at a technician level. It would be beneficial to see programs developed for MQ champions-those who are dedicated to promoting MQ adoption within their companies. Providing these champions with Qbits or full access for a year would allow them to demonstrate to their owners why MQ is a valuable investment. If one technician per company had full access, they could effectively showcase the benefits, such as increased average ticket sizes, reduced callbacks, and higher customer satisfaction. These technicians would become the advocates MQ needs to capture the attention of HVAC company owners. You could create an application process where technicians can apply to become MQ champions. If deemed a good candidate, their account could be marked as a champion, granting them free premier access for 365 days to help spread the word about this amazing software.

  • @hozerhvac4406

    Some companies are simply to large to even listen to there employees. Small companies are being bought out by PE groups, those groups are managed by people who are not from the HVAC field. There managing financials and portfolios with no real field experience. MQ at this point would have more leverage if they started a paid sub.let the techs pay for it, that will get premier more out there. Than ownership will take notice. Right now with Qbits ownership is not paying attention. Give premier to the techs, let techs lead the market and prove to ownership why it works

    • @measureQuick
      @measureQuick 24 дня назад

      On the Accutools gauge, it is not a problem. It will handle up to 1000 psi. The key thing is to open up the suction side first, with a gauge on the liquid line. That will only pressurize the gauge with refrigerant and not contaminated with oil. When the compressor starts, the oil will end up back in the sump almost immediately.

    I bought these while back! Not impressed! Battery life is bad. Mine came with one magnet that is not very strong. @measurequick must be getting paid a lot to push these! Better options out there for cheaper! $400 is nuts for these two temperature probes.

      The range is very comparable with Fieldpiece. We’ve been testing them for a few months. Make your hole in the plum slightly bigger and it probably won’t get tore up. I haven’t had that problem. We primarily put them in supplier register and at the return.

      @@measureQuick I bought them when they first came out. @measurequick said in hvac school podcast how great they were and worked with @measurequick. Well they did not. So now well over a year later i guess they do? The battery life sucks, they get scraoed up from the sheet metal! Inlesz u pull them straight out, even then tbey get caught. The rubber coating vs sheet netal is not ideal. The tips that open and close fall off. The magnet is horrible. I guess now they come with two magnets, but they didn’t when I bought mine. The range is not the same as the @fieldpiece, at least mine aren’t. I’ve done a bunch of firmware updates. Still not great range. JB couldn’t even get them to hook up to their app for like two months after I bought them. $400 for two probes?? I wanted to like them but there just not great at all. @Fieldpiece probes are better in every way and they are only like 220 bucks for two of the temp probes. Been using @measurequick since 2018. Normally Jims recommendations are good. No one can batt 100%.

    I found this presentation because I am in a desperate search for any information about using measure quick I can get. I wish I were at this symposium so I could give the following feedback on the MeasureQuick app: I would like to see a higher level of refrigeration support in the app and appropriate data entry points (for instance: a cold room that is supposed to be maintained at a temperature of 4℃ and a 50%RH does not have ductwork, so a SCFM entry is not applicable). Also, until the most recent upgrade (v2.5) and even now, I struggle to know where to begin in a way that allows me to get back to the same site/equipment to finish a project. Each time I go to work on a piece of equipment I have to start a new project with no way to go back and finish a project previously started. Save to device could be organized by customer/site/equipment, etc. After starting a project, and choosing save to cloud requires enabling premiere features to continue with that project? I would like to see a breakdown of the MeasureQuick app in a way that describes where in the app the current information being typed in is stored. Site names appear different even though it's the same piece of equipment at the same site. In other words, how do I get back to that equipment that I just worked on without creating a new site just so I can add the same equipment all over again? I think MQ is going to be an invaluable tool in my job; I just need to understand how to use it. It's almost as if I'm typing information in the wrong places in the app such that the customer information shows up as either a project name or a site name?! I realize that I need a much deeper understanding of the MeasureQuick app to be able to use it at all effectively.

    In an air handler your low side pressure probe needs to see the resistance of the filter, but also the resistance of the coil. The placement location you showing for the probe is not correct. The probe needs to be after the coil, not after the filter.

Comparing R22 charging with mineral oil to R410A with POE oils are night and day /apples and oranges. #2 ductwork sizing, and airflow has always been a problem but now with ECM motors, it’s a big problem. #3 modern equipment has become more problematic due to the increases in pressures and added requirements put on the manufactures to increase efficiencies by using thinner materials for heat transfer & sophisticated controls (increasing the number of components automatically increases the likelihood of more failures, more time consuming diagnostics with expensive tools & added maintenance requirements.) Regards from STL .
